The affliction of cancer can cause tremendous hardship and hinder those from getting the care they need. To support our patients, the first annual charity golf outing Drive to Make a Difference is being hosted by the Department of Radiation Oncology. All funds raised will go towards transportation, financial assistance and basic necessities for those struggling. So, set your team, and then join ours.
This year alone, it’s expected that more than 1.7 million people will be diagnosed with more than 100 kinds of cancer which is why now, more than ever, we’re committed to providing life-changing care. In the Department of Radiation Oncology, we treat approximately 150 patients per day, and with more research, outreach and education, our experts will be able to make an even bigger contribution to patient care. However, because our largest annual benefit is funded entirely by sponsorships, we simply can’t do it without you.
Drive to Make a Difference was created to benefit the patients of the Department of Radiation Oncology here at the University of Michigan. Funds raised through our charities fundraisers and outings goes directly towards helping those in while undergoing radiation therapy. Our goal is to invest in programs that will aid in the quality of life and experience for our patients.
